Home Bank was formerly known as CFF Bank. It was welcomed into the Home Trust family in October 2015, and renamed as Home Bank in August 2016. Home Bank and Home Trust Company are each member institutions of the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC). In the late 1980s and 1990s, Home Trust and its predecessor company Home Savings and Loans Corporation had a retail presence throughout several communities in southwestern Ontario. Strong growth from 1990s onwards resulted in Home Trust becoming Canada’s largest independent trust company. In 2012, Home Trust returned to its roots with the re-launch of its direct-to-consumer deposits business. Oaken Financial was launched in 2013 to offer Canadians a competitive alternative to manage and control their savings independently.
